My passion for music is my job
I work as an independent artist, performing live shows for a diverse international audience at various resorts and venues.I sing at weddings, events, private gatherings, restaurants, pubs and industry meetings. I'm all about making your event special with my singing and performing.
My preferred genres of music to perform R&B, Soul and Reggae. I enjoy covering popular songs from all around the world.
As an experienced and versatile artist I consider factors such as the number and age range of guests, the desired ambiance, and the event's duration, carefully selecting a diverse range of songs.
I usually perform 2 x 60 minute or 3 x 40 minute sets during the evening, but hey, I'm flexible! I can play more or less music depending on what floats your boat. Need tunes before, after, or in between? No problem, I got you covered. I've got playlists for days, but I gotta say, I have a strong preference for some groovy R&B, Soul, and Reggae to keep the party rollin'.
Now, my gigs are usually private events, but every now and then, I'll grace the public with my musical prowess, and you can catch all those deets on my website, YouTube and FB.
I'm flying solo up on stage, just one artist, but let me tell you, I've got some top-notch musical backing tracks to groove along with. There's so much happening up there that you won't need anything else but me.
I started my musical career at the age of 14 with some schoolboy friends in Kimberley, South Africa. We were discovered by a local businessman who took us on the road and changed our name to CC Beat. We traveled throughout South Africa, other states in Africa, as well as Europe. The band toured with the likes of "Yvonne Chaka Chaka" and "Chicco Twala," to name a few.
Needing their own identity, the band recorded their debut album as "Dr Victor & The Rasta Rebels." Our album "Hello Africa" became a huge success, and we toured all around South Africa and Europe (France, Belgium). Our popularity within South Africa gave us the opportunity to tour with international artists such as Paul Simon (Graceland South African leg of the tour), Stevie Wonder (Ivory Coast), Ziggy Marley (Namibia's "One Bright Day" tour), Gloria Estefan (South African leg of the tour), Tina Turner (South African leg of the tour), and Sting (South African leg of the tour).
As the "front man" for Victor & The Rasta Rebels, I decided to pursue my solo career and I was signed by Gallo Records. I released my debut solo album in 1995 as Stevie C titled "Don't Wanna Lose," recorded in LA, USA.
"Don't Wanna Lose" was No.1 on various South African radio stations such as 5FM, Capital Radio, and Radio Good Hope.
I have also been a part of the following recordings (writing, composing, and vocals):
I established an Entertainment and Capacity Building Company in Thailand called "Nikki Beat Productions." I hosted very successful workshops in Bangkok and Krabi, Thailand, teaching aspiring and professional singers and musicians the art of Performance, Stage Presentation, and finding your unique voice. The workshop was aptly named 'The Uniquely Talented Workshop.'
In recognition of my experience, accomplishments, and talent, I have been honored with the following:
